Wisdom Teeth Removal
Wisdom teeth removal is often considered a preemptive treatment
However, these teeth can often become impacted and cause severe pain, as well as complications with other teeth. At Merion Village Dental’s Columbus office, we will closely monitor the development of your wisdom teeth in order to determine the best possible wisdom teeth extraction treatment for your specific development.
Why remove wisdom teeth?
We recommend the removal of wisdom teeth when we discover any of the following symptoms:
- Abscesses, cysts, or tumors around the tooth
- Crowding of teeth throughout the mouth
- Impaction in the bone or against another tooth
- Bone loss or tooth decay surrounding the area of the wisdom teeth
- Chronic pain in the back teeth
What to expect from your wisdom tooth extraction appointment
At Merion Village Dental, we can gently remove your wisdom teeth using state of the art technology and digital dental x-ray capabilities in the comfort of our own office in Downtown Columbus. We may remove the wisdom teeth in one appointment, or we may recommend two appointments if we feel it’s in the best interest of our patients.
Thanks to the utilizing of safe sedation services, our patients experience a quick, comfortable wisdom tooth removal procedure. You’ll need a friend or family member to drive you home and stay with you until all of the sedative medications have worn off. A member of our team will carefully review all pre-surgery concerns with you prior to your appointment to ensure you are prepared for the procedure.
It's time to get smart with your wisdom teeth!
Waiting for complications before removing your wisdom teeth can cause damage to other teeth in your mouth. If your wisdom teeth are not coming in straight, or are causing you discomfort, now is the time to contact Merion Village Dental for a no-nonsense assessment.
